We also run charity events and perform in regional dance platforms such as U. Design and Technology Years 7, 8 and 9: Each area will be in blocks of thirteen weeks with two lessons per week. Students complete each of these twice in rotation, so that by the time they make their option choices in year 9 they will have completed twenty six weeks in each specialism.

A Level Graphic Communication with Edexcel — details available here. They design costumes for a modern day production of Cinderella, and produce their own updated version of The Golden Fish, through devising, playing and collaborating.
Students become familiar with techniques such as Tableaux, Thought Tracking, Mime, Action Narration and Flashback and will develop their devising skills by learning how to create spontaneous, as well as rehearsed improvisations. They explore the tradition of Pantomime Blanche and Clowning, learning how to design and apply make-up, including the obligatory red nose.
They develop a better understanding of physical performance and apply this to a final piece of devised Drama based on the Grand Guignol, intended to shock and horrify. Students continue developing their ability to use physical theatre, storytelling, improvisation and to create tension, through this immersive scheme of work.
Technical theatre is explored through a unit on set design, which requires students to create a 3D shoe box set for a production of a play based on a short story.
Students are then led through a series of GCSE style projects responding to a range of stimuli, including the artwork of Banksy, Video games and the virtual world, and performing a number of short plays.
Module 1 topics include: Dishes range from beany enchiladas, stir fry, chicken goujons, salads, scone based pizzas to fruity flapjacks.

Students have a residential fieldtrip to Snowdonia as well as two day visits one physical and one human to meet the requirements of the fieldwork component of the course.
